Week on, week off, without the text-message chaos

Two households, one child, one schedule. SmartRelation is made so both parents see the same thing without sharing more than they want.

Parent and child cycling together

Co-parenting

For those of you who are two families.

Separated parents spend hours on texts, screenshots and misunderstandings. SmartRelation lets both households see the children’s schedule in their own calendar, without seeing each other’s private events.

  • Link the families with an invitation. You keep separate families and separate private calendars.
  • Shared children appear in both calendars. School, practice and doctor’s visits are entered once.
  • Pickups and drop-offs are planned together, with reminders for whoever is driving.
  • Statistics on weekends, overnights and pickups, in percent. Facts instead of feelings.

How it works

Up and running in minutes.

  1. Create an account

Email and password. You get a confirmation email and are in within a minute.

  2. Add the family

Adults, children and pets. The kids get their own simple view if you like.

  3. Invite

Send a link to the other adult. They land straight in the same family.

  4. Add the app to your home screen

SmartRelation then opens like any other app, with notifications.

Frequently asked questions

What people ask.

How does co-parenting work?

You each create a family and link them with an invitation. Shared children appear in both calendars, but you do not see each other’s other events. Pickups and statistics are shared between the families.

Does my ex-partner need the app too?

To share the schedule, yes, since that is how you both see the same thing. The app is free for both of you. If the other adult does not want to join, SmartRelation still works well for your own household.

Does the other parent see my private events?

No. Linked families only share what concerns the shared children. Your work, your new partner and your own plans stay in your family.

How does approval work?

When you add an event you can ask another adult to approve it. It shows as pending until they say yes or no. Useful when a weekend swap needs confirming.

What are the statistics for?

The app works out the split of weekends, overnights and pickups in percent over a period. That gives you facts when you talk about fairness, instead of a feeling about who did the most.

Does it work with more than two households?

Each family can be linked to another family per shared child. Blended families with several constellations work; tell us if something feels limiting and we will look at it.
